Greece Update #1

Our Greece trip is underway! Already, we have been leaning on God through the unexpected. A last minute positive COVID test brought the disappointing news that, of the Ferguson family, only Pastor Ken would be joining us. This side of eternity, we may never know the Lord’s purpose for allowing this, but we trust him.

The flight to Atlanta went smoothly, but when boarding our second flight to Athens, the pilot graciously apologized, saying the ground crew had poked a hole in the side of the plane with a ladder, forcing us to deplane and embark on another jet, delaying our flight another 2-3 hours. We are thankful that the Lord gave us safe travels from there on, and we arrived with all of our cargo intact.

Greece has made a great first impression! The scenery is breath-taking, almost surreal, and while we feared the heat would be uncomfortable, if anything, it has been a few degrees cooler than what we have been experiencing in Wichita. Thus far, the families have yet to arrive, but the staff here has been cordial, and they are able to accommodate the Americans who are almost universally unilingual. We are excited about the great things the Lord has in store for us as we serve global workers and their children. We pray that we would provide refreshment for their souls as they fellowship together and refuel to return to their respective countries.
