Invite Friends to Experience Easter

Though we can’t meet as usual, we can still gather online this Easter to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection and the hope we have in him! In fact, God can use this time for people who may not attend in a church building to experience our services online. Here are some ways you can reach out and invite someone, digitally.

4 Steps to Invite People to Easter

  1. Think and pray about who you can invite to Easter
  2. Identify the best way you can get the message out
  3. Access the related resources below
  4. Share them online!

Nextdoor

Nextdoor is a mobile and desktop app that helps you connect with neighbors. If you’re part of your Nextdoor community, consider making a new post inviting your community to check out Eastminster online for Easter.

Sample post: Hey neighbors, just wanted to let you know that my church Eastminster is still doing Easter, just online if anyone is looking for a church! I know times are crazy right now and we all need a little extra encouragement. You can check out the options at eastminster.org. I’ll be attending the [time] service on [Facebook or eastminster.org] and would love to see you there! Hope you have a great Easter!

Selfie Videos

One personal way to reach out on social media is by posting a video inviting friends to Easter (this is especially great for Instagram stories, but it could be a Facebook or Instagram post as well). It doesn’t need to be long or elaborate – just authentic to you! Here are some ideas to get you started.

1. (sitting in your living room) “Hey friends! Easter is still happening this year—and I’ll be celebrating right here! Will you join me at Eastminster Church online? Check out service times at eastminster.org and let me know when you’ll be watching!”
2. “Easter is this week! This week! I can’t wait to celebrate the hope of Jesus, especially at a time like this. Join me online for service at eastminster.org”
3. “Hi friends! I am so excited to celebrate the good news that Jesus is alive. Especially in the midst of so much uncertainty and pain. I’m watching Easter service online this weekend, can you join me? All the details are at eastminster.org—let’s watch together!”
