What to Expect

We get that being new in any environment can feel intimidating and awkward, so we promise not to single you out as a guest. Instead, you’ll be warmly welcomed by some of those who call Eastminster “home,” our volunteers will help you find a comfortable seat, and you can scan a QR code at your seat to access information about the service and church happenings. During the service, you’re welcome to participate or simply observe—and that goes for the offering time, too.

What about my kids?

At Eastminster, kids matter! Although children are always welcome in worship, we also offer age-appropriate environments for kindergartners through high schoolers during our Sunday 9:30 a.m. services and for kindergarteners through second graders during our Sunday 11 a.m. services. We also offer a nursing moms room in our Kids Area with a live video feed of the service. Our entire Kids team, including volunteers, have completed background checks, and we have a secure check-in process to ensure your kids’ safety.

Frequent Questions

What are the services like?

Each of our services is unique in style, but they both include music, prayer, and teaching. At the 8 and 9:30 a.m. services, you’ll experience liturgy (prayers and Scripture we read out loud together), organ-led music, and hymns (“traditional” songs of the church). Our  Sunday 11 a.m. service is more “contemporary,” with music led by our worship band.

What should I wear?

Folks at our 8 and 9:30 a.m. services tend to dress a bit more formally, and our pastors wear robes. But you’ll see a mix of all clothing styles at every service, from work-wear to weekend-wear. So please feel welcome to dress comfortably—whatever that means for you.

How long do services last?

Our services last about an hour. If you’re visiting on a Sunday, it’s helpful to arrive 15 minutes early so you can stop by our welcome desk in the lobby. If you have children and would like them to experience our kids ministry, please arrive 30 minutes before the service begins so we can introduce you to our team and explain our secure check-in process. Read more about our kids ministry.
