Puerto Rico: Day 2

This morning we were able to explore the beauty of the camp in daylight. The Caribbean Sea can be seen from a high point. We traveled to downtown Mayagüez where we were warmly welcomed for worship with our EPC brothers and sisters at Iglesia Presbyteriana Evangélica Mayagüez, Pastor Mike and Sarah Green shared beautiful testimonies. Pastor Samuel preached from Ephesians 4:11-16 on “What is my Spiritual Stature?” where he encouraged us to broaden our horizons and change our thinking to seek and grow to the measure of Christ.

From there, we enjoyed fellowship and lunch at Jorge’s house which overlooks the sea. The VBS and construction groups met with passionate church leaders to collaborate on plans for the week.

With some free time after that, we explored the Plaza Colón and enjoyed ice cream in unexpected flavors like corn, mango and passion fruit and checked out a local bakery. We practiced singing praises to God in a new language to share later in the week. We’re leaning that language boundaries don’t limit the opportunity to spread God’s love.

Please continue to pray for our groups as we head to our mission projects tomorrow. We are excited to see all that God has in store for us this week!
