About the Listening Series

Pastor Stan will be on sabbatical September – December, and we’ll get to enjoy messages from many different speakers, including Eastminster staff and guests. We believe this season of sabbatical is a “kairos moment” – an appointed season of the Lord – for our church, and we look forward to seeing what he has in store for us. Isaiah 43:18-19 says, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” We believe the Lord is doing something new here at Eastminster, and that we should listen intently for the Word he has for us in this season. Pastor Stan will be listening for the leading of the Lord during his time away. Session is listening both to the Lord and to our church family. And we hope we as a body will also maintain a posture of listening during this season. We pray that as a church family we can be open to what new things the Lord has to show us, and what words he might have for us. We want to be open to his interruption and disruption, in order to follow in the path he has for us. We are expectant and hopeful for the new ways he will work among us as a church family.
