Starting Point: Discipleship 101
Wednesdays, 6:30 p.m.; C-13/14. Begins October 26. With Pastor Stan
Jesus said to “go and make disciples.” To do this we must first understand what a disciple is. What does it mean to be a true follower of Jesus? Together we’ll explore the DNA of a disciple.
Perspectives on the World Christian Movement
Mondays, August 22 – December 5 (except the week of Tuesday, September 6, for Labor Day), 6:30 – 9 p.m.; Fellowship Hall
You have an epic role to play. God has a “world-sized” role for every Christian in his global purpose. Whether a person goes to distant countries or stays at home is a secondary issue. The primary issue is what most people are hungry to discover: vision to live a life of purpose. Discovering that vision makes this course valuable, and perhaps crucial, for any follower of Jesus.
What is Perspectives? Perspectives is a 15-week course designed around four vantage points or “perspectives” — Biblical, Historical, Cultural and Strategic. Each one highlights different aspects of God’s global purpose. You’ll hear from dynamic, expert instructors from around the country.
(The class can be taken for undergrad or graduate college credit, for a certificate, or “audited” by attending and completing one or two key articles a week and several personal response sheets during the semester.)
Cost and Registration: first-time participants: $250 (A limited number of $100 scholarships for Eastminster members/attenders are available. Contact Marcia Davis at 634.0337 ext. 231, or firstname.lastname@example.org). Perspectives alumni: free (or a minimal fee to cover cost of materials)
Register online at perspectives.org.
Try It Out: Not sure if Perspectives is for you? You can attend the first two classes free to see if it’s a fit.
