How Can I Serve at Eastminster?

Community

The following ministries of Congregational Care and Support offer opportunities for members to “help fulfill our call to bear one another’s burdens, and in this way fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2).

  • • We are forming a group of church volunteers to call on homebound Eastminster members one afternoon a month. If you are interested, our organizational meeting will be on Thursday, February 4, at 1:30 p.m. in the Parlor.  If you need more information please contact Janice Crabtree at 634.0337, ext. 204, or jcra...@eastminster.org.

  • • Drivers with CDL rating to be back-up drivers for  Sunday morning: 7:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. (allows for 9:30 service participation)

  • • Drivers willing to use their personal vehicles to occasionally drive members to a medical appointment, etc.

  • • Home visitation members who pair up with another to visit our home-bound: approximately six visits per month

  • • Skilled/experienced people who can help facilitate our new grief support ministry: facilitate a monthly grief support group; help plan occasional educational opportunities for the congregation on life transitions and grief and loss; willing to meet occasionally with individuals who are grieving

Your help for less than 1 hour a week can make a huge difference! You can commit to help every week, or sign up for just one time a month.

• Sunday after the 11:00 service (this is a great way for folks who attend the 11:00 service to support ekklesia) Hang the sound curtains, help with sound and musical equipment set up. Some of this involves heavy lifting.

• ekklesia décor team Come early for the 5 p.m. service and help decorate the platform for this service. Or, stay after and help put things away.
