Rev. Kermit L. Oppriecht

Associate Pastor of Missions/Evangelism

Your day job?

I am an associate pastor at Eastminster Presbyterian Church with special responsibility for overseeing the core commitments of Serving God and Knowing God.

What do you like to do on your time off?

I really enjoy spending time with my family.

What inspires you?

The record of the lives of biblical heroes like Daniel and Nehemiah found in the Bible inspires me.

What book has impacted your life?

The Shack

What’s one challenge you’re facing right now?

Taking sufficient time to exercise as often as I know I should.

What is your favorite thing about Eastminster?

My favorite thing about Eastminster is its historic passion to be involved in missions.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

When I graduated from high school and entered college, I was planning to pursue the ministry as a vocation.  As things worked out I ended up getting a teaching degree and taught World History for ten years before going to seminary and truly answering God’s call on my life to be in full time Christian service.  Consequently, I am doing exactly what I wanted to do when I grew up!

Is there a verse God is currently using in your life?

One of the verses that has guided me throughout my adult life and continues to do so is, “Husbands love your wives as Christ loved the church and gave up his life for her.” Ephesians 5: 25  I have been so blessed in my obedience to God’s command found in this verse and I pray that I will be forever found faithful in doing so.

What team do you cheer for?

The Packers
