What is your profession outside of Eastminster?
In the early years I was a CPA with Arthur Young & Company (now Ernst & Young). The following 45 years i was Vice President for Administration and Finance at Wichita State University. I retired from that assignment in January, 2008 but have remained at WSU as Senior Vice President on a half-time basis.
What leadership/volunteer positions in the community do you hold?
Currently i am Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce Awards and Honors Committee. I have also been active in leadership and boards for the National Association of College and University Business Officers (including Chairman of the Board); the Central Association of College and University Business Officers; Wichita State University Foundation (I'm currently a member of Promise for the Future Campaign Cabinet); Sterling College; and community organizations, including United Way of Wichita, Wichita Community Task Force, Wichita Club Centennial Committee and Wichita Girl Scout Council.
Family information, hobbies, interests
My wife, Irene, and I have been blessed with two children, six grandchildren and one 10-month-old great granddaughter, Josie Grace.
I am a major fan of Shocker athletics, including men’s basketball, baseball, women’s basketball and women’s volleyball.
I love to travel and seek out the best restaurants upon arrival.
